Introduction post office recruitment 2024 :
The Government of India, Ministry of Communication, Department of Posts has released a notification (No. Rectt/M-12/Staff Car Driver/2023/6/Advertisement-3 dated 05-01-2029) inviting applications for the recruitment of Driver (Ordinary Grade) in Uttar Pradesh Circle. This is a great opportunity for Indian Nationals to join the General Central Service, Group C, Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial role in the Department of Posts.
Various Posts and Pay Scale:
The available post is Driver (Ordinary Grade) with a pay scale of Rs 19900 – Rs 63200 in Level-2 as per Pay Matrix specified in Part A of the schedule of CCS (Revised Pay) Rules 2016, plus admissible allowances. The pay scale under the pre-revised scale is Rs 5200-20200 (Pay Band-1) with Grade Pay Rs 1900.
Vacancies:

Important Dates:

Application Fees:
– A non-refundable Indian Postal Order of Rs. 100/- in favor of Manager Mail Motor Service, Kanpur, payable at Kanpur HO, should be enclosed as an application fee.
– Women candidates, Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Ex-Servicemen eligible for reservation are exempted from payment of the fee.
Age Limit:
Candidates must be between 18 to 27 years old. Relaxation in age is provided for OBC candidates (up to 3 years), SC/ST candidates (up to 5 years), and Central Government Servants (up to 40 years). Ex-servicemen have additional age relaxations.
Educational Qualifications:
Candidates should have:
– Possession of a valid driving license for light & heavy motor vehicles.
– Knowledge of motor mechanism.
– Experience of driving in light & heavy motor vehicles for at least three years.
– Passed 10th standard from a recognized Board or Institute.
– Desirable qualification: Three years of service as Home Guard or Civil Volunteers.
Selection Process:
The selection process involves a Trade Test/Driving Test with two stages:
1. Stage I: Test for knowledge of General Knowledge, Simple arithmetic, General intelligence & reasoning, Motor Mechanism, and Traffic Rules.
2. Stage II: Test for knowledge of Motor Mechanism and Driving Practical.
