Sahitya Akademi, also known as the National Academy of Letters, is a prestigious autonomous organization under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. As India’s premier literary institution, the Akademi plays a crucial role in preserving and promoting literature in twenty-four Indian languages through various means such as awards, fellowships, grants, publications, literary programs, workshops, and exhibitions. In line with its commitment to literary excellence, Sahitya Akademi is inviting applications for several positions on a direct recruitment basis.
Various Posts Available and Pay Scale:
1. Publication Assistant:
– No. of Posts: 1 (UR)
– Pay Level: Level-6/ Rs.35,400-1,12,400
– Age: 35 Years
– Educational Qualifications: Graduation, Diploma in Printing, 5 years’ experience in printing or publishing, knowledge of computer application.
2. Sales-cum-Exhibition Assistant:
– No. of Posts: 2 (1-UR, 1-SC)
– Pay Level: Level-6/ Rs.35,400-1,12,400
– Age: 40 Years
– Educational Qualifications: Graduation, 3 years’ experience in a publishing house, knowledge of computer application.
3. Technical Assistant:
– No. of Posts: 1 (OBC)
– Pay Level: Level-6/ Rs.35,400-1,12,400
– Age: 35 Years
– Educational Qualifications: Graduation, Diploma in Book Publishing, 5 years’ experience in printing or publishing, knowledge of computer application.
4. Proof Reader cum General Assistant:
– No. of Posts: 1 (OBC)
– Pay Level: Level-4/25,500-81,100
– Age: 30 Years
– Educational Qualifications: Graduation, 2 years’ experience as Proof Reader, knowledge of computer application.
5. Receptionist cum-Telephone Operator:
– No. of Posts: 1 (UR)
– Pay Level: Level-4/25,500-81,100
– Age: 30 Years
– Educational Qualifications: Graduation, 2 years’ experience in operating EPABX system, knowledge of computer application.
6. Junior Clerk:
– No. of Posts: 2 (UR)
– Pay Level: Level-2/ Rs.19,900-63,200
– Age: 30 Years
– Educational Qualifications: 12th class pass, typing speed, knowledge of computer application.
7. Multi Tasking Staff:
– No. of Posts: 2 (UR)
– Pay Level: Level-1/ Rs.18,000-56,900
– Age: 30 Years
– Educational Qualifications: 10th pass or ITI equivalent.
Important Dates:
– Last date for application submission: Within 30 days from the date of publication in Employment News.
Application Procedure and Fees:
1. Application form with a self-attested photograph and required documents should be sent by speed-post/registered post to the Secretary, Sahitya Akademi, Rabindra Bhavan, 35 Ferozeshah Road, New Delhi-110001.
2. A separate application form for each post is required.
3. No application through email will be accepted.
4. Application fees or any other fees information not provided.
Selection Procedure:
– Written test consisting of objective and descriptive exams. Specific criteria for each post are mentioned in the notification.
