Shimla, Himachal Pradesh – The Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC recruitments 2023) has released an advertisement, Number 16/10-2023, inviting online recruitment applications for the post of Lecturer (School – New) Biology, Class-III, on a contract basis within the Department of Higher Education in Himachal Pradesh. Candidates interested in applying should note that the age requirement for this position is between 18 and 45 years, as of 1st January 2023. It is important to mention that candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, Persons with disabilities, and Children/Grand Children of Freedom Fighters of Himachal Pradesh can enjoy a relaxation of up to five years in the upper age limit. However, this relaxation will be applicable only if there are reserved posts for these categories.

Examination Fees:

The examination fees vary based on the category to which the candidate belongs. Here are the details:

1. General Category, including Male candidates of General, General Physically Disabled (Orthopedically disabled, Deaf & Dumb, and Hearing Impaired), Economic Weaker Section (EWS), Wards of Freedom Fighter categories (WFF), and General Ex-Servicemen of HP relieved from Defence Services on their own request before completion of normal tenure of service under the Government of India are required to pay Rs.400/-.

2. Candidates from Other States, including reserved category candidates of other states, are also required to pay Rs.400/-.

3. Male candidates of S.C. of H.P., S.T. of H.P., O.B.C. of H.P., and EWS (Covered under UR-BPL) categories of Himachal Pradesh, and Ex-Servicemen candidates of Himachal Pradesh belonging to SC, ST, and OBC categories who are relieved from the Defence Services on their own request before completion of their normal tenure of service under the Government of India need to pay Rs.100/-.

4. Ex-Servicemen male candidates of Himachal Pradesh who are relieved from the Defence Services after completion of normal tenure of service under the Government of India and Blind and Visually Impaired male candidates of Himachal Pradesh are exempted from paying the examination fee. For these candidates, there is no fee.

It’s important to note that female candidates will be exempted from paying the examination fee, in accordance with the instructions of the Government of Himachal Pradesh.

Scheme of Examination:

The selection process for various Class-III posts, under the jurisdiction of the Commission, will be based on written examinations or tests (Computer-Based Test/Offline Test). The examination will consist of two papers with objective type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), and there will be negative marking for incorrect answers.

Paper – I: This paper is a Computer-Based Test (CBT) or Offline Screening Test lasting one hour. It includes the following:

– General knowledge of Himachal Pradesh = 30 Marks

– General knowledge of National and International Affairs = 30 Marks

– Knowledge of Hindi language = 20 Marks

– Knowledge of English language = 20 Marks

Candidates are required to obtain a minimum of 35% pass marks in this paper, and it is considered a qualifying paper.

Paper – II: This is a Subject Aptitude Test (SAT) with a duration of two hours and carries 100 marks. The syllabus for this paper will be decided by the Commission.

The Commission will decide the mode of conducting the tests depending on the number of candidates and computer terminals available. Both Paper – I and Paper – II will be conducted on the same day, in morning and evening sessions, at various locations in Himachal Pradesh as determined by the Commission.

On the basis of the performance in Paper – II, a category-wise zone of consideration will be prepared in following manner.
