Himachal Pradesh University Announces Recruitment for Teaching and Non-Teaching Posts Summary
hpu recruitment>> October 19, 2023 – Himachal Pradesh University, a prestigious ‘A’ Grade NAAC-accredited institution located in Summerhill, Shimla, has announced a recruitment drive for various teaching and non-teaching positions. The University has issued an official advertisement, inviting online applications from eligible candidates. The recruitment drive opens on October 27, 2023, and will conclude on November 10, 2023.

The University encourages applicants to apply well in advance to avoid a last-minute rush, as the online application link will be disabled after the closing date.
Candidates who have applied in response to previous advertisements are also required to update their information for this recruitment. They can log in using their existing IDs and Passwords to avail of fee exemption.
Application Fees:
– General Category (including General Physically Disabled, EWS, SC, ST, OBC, B.P.L., Ex-Servicemen of H.P.): Rs. 2000/-
– E.W.S. of H.P., S.C. of H.P., S.T. of H.P., O.B.C of H.P., B.P.L. of H.P., including S.C./S.T./O.B.C. Servicemen of H.P. relieved from Defence Services on their request: Rs. 1000/-
– Ex-Servicemen of H.P. (Relieved from Defence Services before completing normal tenure) / Visually Impaired of H.P.: No Fee

Selection Process:
Teaching Posts:
– All online applications received by the University will be screened by a Screening Committee to determine eligibility. Incomplete applications and those without supporting documents will be summarily rejected.
– Shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews based on their academic scores, as specified in the UGC Regulations, 2018, for different teaching positions.
– The number of candidates to be invited for an interview will depend on the number of vacancies and the roster.
– In cases where there’s a scarcity of qualified candidates in reserved categories, the Vice-Chancellor may adjust interview criteria.
– For horizontal reservation (special categories), even if there’s only one candidate, they will be considered.
Associate Professor & Professor/Director:
– All eligible candidates will be invited for interviews, even if there is only one eligible candidate for a post.
– Meeting the minimum qualification and experience requirements doesn’t guarantee an interview. The University reserves the right to re-advertise if no candidate is found suitable for a post.
Non-Teaching Posts (Advisor-cum-Consultant):
– Selection will be based on a total of 100 marks.
– Academic assessment accounts for 20 marks, distributed among different academic qualifications.
– Marks obtained in the 10th examination, 10+2 examination, Graduation, and Post-Graduation will be considered, with 5% weightage for each.
