Pay Scale:

The pay scale for the post of Lecturers (PGTs) is Rs. 9,300-34,800 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 4,800, as notified by the Chandigarh Administration, Finance Department (Accounts Branch) in notification no. 7000/15/8-F&P0(7)1202314354 dated March 29, 2023.

Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for the post of Lecturers (PGTs), candidates must meet the following criteria:

Academic Stream:

[A]

1. Post Graduate Degree in the relevant subject with at least 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized University.

2. Bachelor of Education Degree recognized by NCTE with at least 45% marks in aggregate or its equivalent with a relevant teaching subject.

OR

[B]

1. Two years integrated M.Sc. Ed. Course or an equivalent course of Lecturers in Science Subjects with at least 50% marks in aggregate.

Physical Education:

[A]

1. M.A. in Physical Education with at least 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized University.

2. Bachelor of Education Degree recognized by NCTE with at least 45% marks in aggregate or its equivalent.

OR

[B]

1. Master in Physical Education (M.P.Ed.) from a recognized University with at least 50% marks in aggregate.

1. Candidates’ age should be strictly between 21 to 37 years as of January 1, 2023.

2. Relaxations in age limits will be granted to SC/OBC/ESM/PwBD and other category candidates as per the instructions issued by the Government of India/Chandigarh Administration.

3. Contract Teachers, Guest Teachers, and Samagra Shiksha Teachers working in Government Schools of Chandigarh will be given age relaxation equal to the period they worked in Government Schools under Chandigarh Administration. This relaxation applies to the above category of teachers who are working in the Education Department Chandigarh/Samagra Shiksha Chandigarh on the closing date for the submission of the application.
