Maruti Suzuki swift 2024 Got A Dashing New Look

Maruti Suzuki India’s parent Suzuki Motor Corporation has unveiled the fourth-generation Maruti suzuki Swift 2024 at the Tokyo Motor Show 2023 (Japan Mobility Show 2023).

The Maruti Swift has been a favorite among Indian car enthusiasts for many years, and it has consistently evolved to meet the demands of the market. In this article, we’ll take a closer look at the fourth-generation Swift 2024, unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show (now known as the Japan Mobility Show). While there are some recognizable elements, it’s also a whole new experience.

Exterior

The first thing you’ll notice is the front design, featuring a clamshell bonnet that extends further up and a blacked-out grille. In this concept version, there’s a front camera and some smart features. Don’t be fooled by the “Swift Concept” tag; this is very close to the production model.

Moving to the sides, the headlights retain the classic L-shape and LED projector lamps. The overall shape of the car remains true to Swift’s iconic design. It continues to have the classic narrow top and wide bottom with a contrast-colored roof. Plus, there are some stylish dual-tone alloy wheels.

Towards the rear, the door handle has shifted back to its older position, and there’s a round fuel filler cap. The tailgate has that classic Swift dip between the tail lamps, giving it the unmistakable Swift look. Notably, there’s a hexagonal element in the bumper. The overall look of the Swift 2024 combines familiarity with fresh design elements.

Interior

Inside the car, you’ll find a lot of familiar elements, resembling the Baleno, another popular Suzuki model in India. There’s a freestanding touchscreen, and while it’s not entirely digital, it does have a digital display in the center along with an analog tachometer. The Suzuki steering wheel is back, and this time it comes with paddle shifters and toggle switches for the AC vents.

The seats feel familiar, likely similar to the current Swift model. Many of the switch gears and controls are repeated, including the steering controls, start button, and the trusted Maruti Suzuki window switches. In this particular car, there’s a touch of brightness with white-colored trim on the dashboard. However, it remains to be seen if this feature will make it to the Indian market.

What’s really interesting is that this Swift offers an armrest for the driver’s seat and an electronic handbrake, which is quite a change from the previous Swift models.So there is also a change in tail lights.

Under the Hood

While this car is a hybrid, what’s especially exciting for the Indian market is the brand-new 1.2-liter 3-cylinder naturally aspirated engine. This engine is unrelated to the K12 engine in India currently. While the power output is expected to be similar, the torque will be notably improved.
